A New Plant Has Been Ordered!!

Hot Water ProblemsFurther to our previous story concerning the issues with the hot water (Hot Water Problems on the Curnock Estate) we have received an update that states that a new plant has been ordered. More information below.

Dear Cllr Robinson

Again I appreciate the concerns, I apologise for the situation and I stress that we are working hard to rectify this issue.

I have advised previously to all parties, that we have put together a programme for the conclusion of these works and are addressing them daily for improvements, as can be seen below we have ordered plant that needs to be manufactured, assembled and galvanised off site.

If we could arrange for this work to be undertaken overnight we would, but it has a timeframe for completion due to the nature of the equipment being supplied.

I am more than happy to speak or meet with you if you wish and I would like to reiterate that we have done and are doing our utmost to rectify this once and for all.

The current statement, of the arranged works at Curnock Street, is as follows.

We have placed orders and are arranging for plant to be assembled prior to delivery, this incorporates galvanisation of certain parts thus the delay in the programme between order and delivery which will be the 16th March. We continue to be on target for the end of March and are continually pressing our supply chain for improvement on deliveries and work.

We have arranged for our partners to underwrite this work confirming that the changes to the system will rectify the recent lower than normal water temperatures.

Thank you for your email.

Mr Wheatman’s email raises some important questions.

1) what does he mean when he says “plant”?
2) what will be the cost for that plant?
3) what about the noise level? Will the new plant be insulated as the previous one in order to reduce the noise?
4) if they replace one of the boilers why did they told us many times in the past year or so that the boilers have another 10 years of life?

I would appreciate if you could manage to have those answers from Mr Wheatman as this matter has stressed many residents and will have an economic impact for the leaseholders as well as council tenants.
